Trim your video
Here are the steps to trim video from either the beginning and end of a video that you have capture with your iPhone or iPad. 1 Launch the Photos app and open the video you with to trim. 3 On the frame viewer below the video, press and hold one of the arrows at the end until a yellow frame appears around the frame viewer. 4 Drag the yellow highlighted arrow to a new starting. Open the Photos app and double-click the video that you want to edit. Hover over the video, click the action button, and choose Trim. Move the yellow sliders on both sides of the video timeline to change the start and stop times. To preview your trimmed video, click the play button. Right-click on the moment you want to cut in the video (optional). As an alternative to the keyboard shortcut, you can just hover over the video clip in the editor at the bottom, and right-click on the exact moment you want to cut. 6 Select Split Clip on the right-click menu.

Save Video saves only the trimmed version of the video. Save as New Clip keeps the original version and saves an additional trimmed version in your library.

Add a filter and rotate your videos
After you take your photo, open the photo in the Photos app and tap Edit. You can rotate, add a filter, and adjust the look of your video in the Photos app. If you don't like your changes, tap Cancel to revert to the original.
On your Mac, open the Photos app and click Edit to adjust the look of your video. If you don't like your changes, click Revert to Original or Reset Adjustments.

On your iPhone you could trim the videos and create two trimmed copies to split it:
Trim a video. Tap the screen to display the controls, drag either end of the frame viewer, then tap Trim.
Important: If you choose Trim Original, the trimmed frames are permanently deleted from the original video. If you choose Save as New Clip, a new trimmed video clip is saved in your Videos album and the original video is unaffected.
